Poll Builder Command

About the command

The Poll Builder Command lets you create a poll step by step in an interactive menu. Instead of putting everything into one command, you set up the poll with buttons and select menus and see a live preview of it while you work. This is the easiest way to create a poll with many settings at once, such as a time limit, an image, several allowed roles or custom colors.

Nothing is posted until you click Create, so you can review everything first. The menu is only visible to you.

Quick Overview

  • Command: /pollbuilder
  • Required Options: None
  • Optional Options: question, answer-[1-24]
  • Default Required Permissions: Manage Server

Arguments

OptionDescriptionRequiredLimitations
questionWhat is the question of the poll?❌1024 characters
answer-[1-24]Answer options for which members can vote. For each answer custom emojis can be set. (Read more here)❌256 characters

You can also leave out the options and add the question and the answers in the builder.

Custom emojis

Discord only offers its emoji picker in command options, not in the text fields of the builder. To use custom emojis from your server, add the answers with the answer options of the command. In the builder, each answer can get one of the default emojis (🇦, 🇧, 🇨, ...) from a select menu.

What you can set up

  • Question and the text/description shown above the poll
  • Answers can be added, removed, renamed or given a different emoji. A poll can have up to 25 answers, more than 20 answers only work with the select menu voting style.
  • Poll type lets you pick a poll type or set up a custom visibility
  • Time sets when the poll closes automatically. It accepts the same formats as the time option of /timepoll. Leave it empty for a poll without a time limit.
  • Image is the image displayed with the poll
  • Channel is where the poll is posted. By default, this is the channel you run the command in.
  • Colors are the embed colors for each poll state and the button color. They start with your server's default colors.
  • Max choices sets how many answers each member may pick
  • Max total votes closes the poll once this many votes have been cast
  • Allowed roles restrict who is allowed to vote
  • Allow vote removal decides whether members may take their vote back

Once the poll has a question and at least one answer, click Create and confirm to post it.

info

EasyPoll checks that both you and the bot can post in the selected channel. If the poll was created but its message could not be sent, for example because the bot lost access to the channel in the meantime, the poll is kept. Fix the permissions and post it with the Publish button.
