This page lists notable changes to EasyPoll, newest first. It covers the Discord bot, the dashboard, the API and the documentation.
Each entry is dated (YYYY-MM-DD, UTC) with the day the change was announced, and changes are grouped into Added, Changed, Deprecated, Removed and Fixed. Announcements are also posted on our Discord server.
2026
2026-09-26: Poll types and custom visibility
Added
- Five poll types that decide who sees the results, the turnout and the voters, both while a poll is running and after it closes: Public, Anonymous, Secret Winner, Reveal at End and Blind Voting. See Poll types.
- The poll type can be chosen with the
typeoption of/poll,/timepolland/schedulepoll, or on the dashboard. - Custom visibility: Vote counts, ranking, turnout, the participant list and who voted for which answer can each be set to Everyone, Admins only or Hidden, separately for the running and the closed poll. Available via
/editpoll(Type → Custom) and on the dashboard. See Custom visibility. - API: New
visibilityfield on polls. See Poll Visibility.
Changed
- The previous poll types are still available and are now marked as (Legacy). Existing polls keep their behavior. Blind Voting behaves like the old Anonymous type. See Legacy poll types.
- Once a poll has votes, its type can only be changed to a more private one.
Deprecated
- API: The
typefield on polls is deprecated in favor ofvisibility.
2026-08-28: API versioning
Added
- API: The API is now versioned. The base URL is
https://easypoll.com/api/v1. - API: Every endpoint, request field, response field and query parameter in the API reference now has a description.
Deprecated
- API: Requests without a version segment (
https://easypoll.com/api/...) are still answered and treated asv1, but they respond with aDeprecationheader pointing to the versioned path.
2026-08-20: New domain easypoll.com
Changed
- The main domain moved from
easypoll.bottoeasypoll.com. All old links, including invite links and links in older bot messages, redirect automatically. - The bot now links to
easypoll.com. - The dashboard is now available at easypoll.com/dashboard. Users may have to sign in once again.
- The documentation is now available at easypoll.com/docs. The status page is unchanged.
Deprecated
- API: The base URL
https://easypoll.bot/apiis deprecated. Support ends on 2026-12-31, 23:59:59 UTC. Integrations should migrate tohttps://easypoll.com/api/v1before then.
2026-07-30: Fine-grained dashboard permissions, new languages and docs overhaul
Added
- Dashboard: Fine-grained role permissions. Roles can be limited to specific areas such as polls, restrictions or the audit log. See Dashboard Permissions.
- Bot: New languages Spanish, French and Portuguese (Brazil). These translations are AI-generated.
- Bot:
publish_resultoption for/closepollto close a poll and publish its result in one step. - Bot: "View Poll" button on published result messages, and a "Publish" button in the poll details view.
- Website: The website is now available in all languages supported by the bot.
Changed
- Docs: The documentation was revamped with more detailed descriptions, exact bot behavior and examples. Previously missing commands and command options were added to the website and the documentation.
2026-07-11: Logging channel and audit log improvements
Added
- Bot: Logging channel. EasyPoll can post a log message whenever a poll is created, updated or closed, and when server settings or restrictions change. Set it up with
/settings loggingor in the dashboard settings. Requires theManage Webhookspermission. - Dashboard: Audit log entries contain much more detail. For example, "Create Poll" entries show the poll's values, and settings changes show the old and the new value.

- Dashboard: The audit log was redesigned to match the look of EasyPoll's log messages on Discord.
- Dashboard: Actions performed on the dashboard are now marked as "Dashboard" in the audit log instead of "API". Every entry shows whether it came from the bot, the API or the dashboard.
2026-07-08: Natural language time inputs
Added
- Bot: All time inputs of
/timepolland/schedulepollaccept natural language (for exampletomorrow 9am) with an optional timezone. Times without a timezone are interpreted as UTC. Previous input formats and Unix timestamps keep working. - Dashboard: Images can be added to and edited on polls.

- Bot:
/editpollno longer times out on polls with many answers.
2026-05-17: Context menu commands and answer editing on the dashboard

- Bot: New message actions Delete, Export and Reopen on poll messages (right-click →

- Bot: The limit of 2 scheduled polls per minute was replaced. Scheduled polls now only need to be at least 10 seconds apart.
- Dashboard: Updated alert colors, user settings on the server selection page and skeleton loaders while content is loading.
2026-02-13: Schedule Poll and Move Poll commands

2025-11-07: EasyPoll API (beta)
Added
- API: Public EasyPoll API to create and manage polls, read votes and change guild settings. API keys are created on the dashboard, and every request runs on behalf of the key's user and with their permissions. The API is in beta and may still change.
2025-10-23: Close polls at a vote count and pin poll messages

- Bot & Dashboard: Polls can close automatically once a set number of votes is reached (for example after 100 votes).
- Bot & Dashboard: Option to pin active time poll messages while they are running. Disabled by default, see
/settings events. - Dashboard: Copy a poll and edit it before creating it.

2025-06-01: Winner announcement and poll management on the dashboard

- Bot: When a poll closes automatically, EasyPoll can announce the winning answer and ping the poll creator. Disabled by default, see

2025-01-25: Edit Poll

/editpolland the message actionApps→Editto edit a poll after it was created: question, answers (edit, delete, add), description, poll type, duration, image, embed and button colors, maximum choices, allowed roles and whether votes can be changed. - Bot: Multiple allowed roles per poll (via

- Bot: Polls can have up to 25 answers (previously 19 or 20). Polls with more than 20 answers must use select menus, because buttons support at most 20 answers.

At release, answer emojis and the order of answers could not be edited, and new answers used a default emoji. Answers can be reordered on the dashboard since 2026-05-17.
2025-01-12: Role-weighted voting
Added
- Bot:
/settings role-weightto give votes from members of a role more weight (1 to 100, default 1). If a member has several weighted roles, the highest weight counts. The weight is fixed when the vote is cast. - Bot: The participant list can be sorted by username, time of voting and voting weight.

2024-08-07: Blocking users

2024-06-29: Copy Poll

2024-06-09: Rewrite with buttons, select menus and command permissions
EasyPoll was rebuilt from the ground up for better scalability.
Added
- Bot: New commands
/showpoll,/reopenpoll,/deletepoll,/exportpoll(JSON or CSV),/pollresultand/debug. - Bot: New settings commands
/settings language,/settings events,/settings threads,/settings colors embedsand/settings colors buttons. - Bot: Member events. When a member leaves, is kicked or is banned, EasyPoll can remove their active votes.
- Bot: EasyPoll can create a thread for a poll and close it automatically when the poll ends.

Apps→Migrate to Buttonsto convert reaction-based polls.
Changed
- Bot: Voting uses buttons and select menus instead of reactions. Reactions are no longer removed for anonymous polls, and limited-choice polls no longer depend on removing reactions.
- Bot: Permissions are managed with Discord's command permissions (
Server Settings→Integrations→EasyPoll). By default, theManage Serverpermission is required for all commands except/helpand/invite. See Permission System.
Removed
- Bot: Breaking: Voting with reactions. Existing reaction-based polls stopped working and had to be migrated to buttons.
- Bot: Breaking: The
PollCreatorrole and theeasypollkeyword in channel descriptions no longer grant permissions. - Bot: Vote confirmations via direct message.
